A Town Near You

In a lot of ways I'm an old fashioned guy. So when it was time to drum up some attention for Dictator for Life's upcoming Kickstarter, I decided to go about it in an old-school way - by driving up and down the East Coast of the US, shaking hands and passing out posters.

With no set itinerary, my copilot Haley and I meandered along, walking into whatever game stores we encountered along the way. Starting in Ohio and working our way to Acadia National Park and back, we covered a lot of ground. And what happens when you show up cold to game stores, totally unannounced, spreading the word about your indie board game?

Well in my case, I was met with a huge amount of enthusiasm, support, and good advice!

These fine people were all happy to hang my poster on their wall and let their customers get the word about Dictator for Life. Every single store I walked into was welcoming, encouraging, and down to shoot the breeze about all things gaming. Everyone of them was proud of their business and was happy to tell me all about how they serve the gamer community in the area. Walking into so many distinct board game scenes one after another was an amazing and uplifting experience. It's unreal how cool everyone was. Or maybe it's just the right amount of real.

Real

Meeting and interacting with so many people who were exited about Dictator for Life was the highlight of my year. When the game is released I'm hoping some more realness can be put together.
