CONTENT POLICY: The speeches selected to be on dictatorforlife.com showcase a modern version of the Ancient Roman oratory style. We encourage you to be bombastic, pompus, verbose, highfalutin - enthusiasm and vocabulary will score you big points. We are focusing exclusively on speeches that embody this world of oratory. These speeches are meant to deepen our immersion into our pretend version of the ancient world - our homage to it. In that spirit we will not permit the following:

  1. Mentions of modern politics and current affairs - This is both to prevent immersion-breaking, and to prevent dictatorforlife.com from becoming just another online forum where people obsess over politics. Do not say that Donald Trump is a dictator. Do not say that another player is as useless as Joe Biden. Do not express which side of a modern military conflict you support. Do not use your speech as a platform to express support for a modern day group or movement you care about, no matter how justified. Ideally nobody on this site should interact on a political level. There are countless other places you can do this online and in real life.

  2. Heavy use of modern themes - Similar to the above point, you should avoid talking about modern things such as - driving your car, using social media, using modern weapons, etc. This is not a strict rule - don't worry about making sure that every single word and concept is well and truly from the ancient world. The rule is just to let you know not to compose a clever speech centered around modern themes, or to make standout comments such as "Let's make this go viral." How far can you take your oratory while sticking to classic themes?

  3. No AI/Chatbots/LLMs - The speech must be entirely conceived and composed by you, not by software. We will simply ask you to check a box pledging that you wrote the speech. It would be shameful to enter a speech that you did not write in an attempt to deceive the other members into giving you attention and praise.
