I've come to an unfortunate place where I can't really use the internet to accomplish simple leisure reading anymore. The clickbait, ads, and all around distracting rubbish overflows. I'm making an attempt to hunt down and post links to websites that host clean, high-quality, distraction-free content.
I thought I'd start by searching for some stories I already knew about - such as how emperor Nero's rotating dining room was found in Rome in 2009. Here's how the experience went:

Wow what a bummer. That's no way to read. The internet has become hideous. The people running these sites have no concern for the quality of the user's experience. Who can read with multiple videos and gross stuff swirling around at all times? Not me.

And then I came across a site I'd never heard of before - Smarthistory.org. It's beautiful! And it respects the reader. I was very pleasantly surprised to find this one. I'm sure they'll have a lot more for us.

I'll be making it the goal of this page to seek out and share more high-quality content about the ancient world, just like what I found on Smarthistory.org.
I have no idea about this site's bias, funding, mission, etc. I'm not thoroughly vetting sites. For now I'm just pulling together a readable and respectful collection of links.
